Burpham
Burpham near Arundel also had a treacle mine. and like Chobham and so many other places where there was extra pocket money to be earned. "treacle mines" became a secret place to hide, but in the case of the young ladies of Burpham, their hiding place was under their bed matress where they hid their earning in an old sock.
But, well and truly hidden were the men of P.I.E. the Treacle Miners. Their underground hiding place was never found.
